1. Using a Smart TV

  1. Determine what kind of smart TV you own: With regard to the model or manufacturer, every aspect of the layout and interface of your smart TV may vary. Owners of the majority of smart TVs, including those powered by Samsung Smart TV, Vizio SmartCast, or LG WebOS, should find these procedures helpful. Popular channels like Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV are integrated into many contemporary smart TVs. The section on utilizing a Roku, Google TV, or Amazon Fire offers extra information if one of these capabilities is available on your smart TV.
  2. Connect your TV to the internet at home: Your smart TV must be connected to the internet in order to stream Netflix from it. Although many TVs also offer a wired connection, you’ll typically do this using Wi-Fi. An internet connection via a wired connection will be much more reliable.
  3. Launch the smart TV apps: A button on the majority of TV remote controls will launch the apps list. This button frequently features a logo or the brand name of the TV. Not your cable box or universal remote, but the remote for your TV will need to be used. A Netflix-specific button may be present on some remote controls, which you can use to access Netflix directly.
  4. Launch the Netflix app: It is a white icon with the word “Netflix” written in red. To navigate the apps on the Smart TV’s user interface, utilize the arrow buttons on your TV remote. Press the Select, Enter, or Ok button on your remote control after selecting the Netflix app icon. If you can’t find the Netflix app, you might have to download it from the app store on your smart TV. To access streaming apps, the firmware of an older TV may need to be updated. The procedure varies, but in general, you download the file to your computer, copy it to a USB flash drive, and then insert the USB flash drive into the TV. For further instructions, see the Support page for your TV model.
  5. Sign in using your Netflix account: Select Sign In after entering your Netflix account’s email address and password using the on-screen keyboard. On the Netflix website or through your TV, you can create an account if you don’t already have one. Choose the profile you want to use if you have more than one on your Netflix account.
  6. Search and play content: To access the Netflix menus, use the arrow buttons on your TV remote. To examine the data, select a tile and hit the Select, Enter, or Ok button on your remote control. To watch a movie in all its glory, select the Play icon and press the Select, Enter, or Ok buttons. To watch a TV show, highlight Seasons, choose a season, pick an episode, and then press the Select, Enter, or Ok button to start the episode. The video playback can then be managed with your remote while it is being watched.

Using a Computer To Watch Netflix with HDMI TV

1. Connect your computer to your TV via an HDMI connection

Connect one end of an HDMI cable to your computer’s HDMI out port and the other to the TV’s HDMI in port if your computer has one. Keep track of the HDMI in port you use.

Check to determine if your computer has a DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, or Mini HDMI out port if it lacks an HDMI out connector. These out ports can be connected to your TV with an adapter, if necessary. Bluetooth connections to TVs would also be possible, but there might be a delay in the audio and video.

With an HDMI converter and an older computer, you might be able to connect your laptop to your TV via the DVI or VGA port. There is no audio transmission sent via these connections. You’ll probably need to link your computer’s headphone port to an RCA input that corresponds to the video in on your TV using a 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable in order to get audio.

2. On your TV remote, press the power button

The icon for the power button is commonly that of a circle with a line in the center.

3. Choose the HDMI device to which you connected your PC

Your TV remote’s Source or Input button should be pressed to choose the video source. You ought to notice your computer screen mirroring to your TV as soon as you choose the appropriate source.

4. Open a browser on your PC and go to Netflix

To sign in to your Netflix account if you aren’t already, click Sign In in the top right corner and enter your email address and password. Choose the profile you want to use if your Netflix account has more than one.

5. Select the film or TV program you want to Watch

To browse Netflix’s movies and TV series, click the left and right arrows in the categories with the mouse’s scroll wheel or two fingers on the touchpad. To view the information page for a movie or TV show you wish to watch, click its image after you’ve found it.

6. Select a show or hit “Play” to get started

Click the Play button to start watching a movie. To choose an episode of a TV show to watch, click Seasons. The Netflix browser will then let you manage the playback of the movie or TV show.

Watching movies and TV shows from your computer on your TV is also possible with screen mirroring.
